I decided take processes and ideas from several creative disciplines and re-engineer them through the lens of aiming to create a more environmentally friendly printing technique.

I had hoped to be able to print these images using watercolour paints, so that I could avoid plastics. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to experiment with organic thickening agents and shifted to acrylic paints. Working with watercolours is something I intend to explore further in the future.

To achieve these final prints, I have recombined techniques and mediums from photography, graphic design, home crafting and fine art.

Offset printing and CMYK plate separations are part of a graphic design workflow.

The cutting machine and software that I used are generally associated with home crafting activities such as scrapbooking or clothing customisation. I have used the technology to create stencils which are a tool in my making process rather than the end result.

My finished prints are made using fine art materials and mediums, including acrylic paint, gel mediums and watercolour paper.
